Forgetfulness

memory365x243

Everyone forgets things, unless you have eidetic memory. In order to counter this, many people do all sorts of things to not forget something. We get rubber bands, write on sticky notes, setup calendars, get day planners, create agendas, etc… The problem is that even with all of these things, there are still things that fall between the cracks. As forgetfulness is a natural part of our lives, we tolerate this to an extent. The extent being limited to the severity of what was forgotten. For example, listening to a friend tell a joke for the 4th or 5th time, because they can’t remember who they haven’t told it to, is often …

Lambs for the Slaughter

jumping-lambs

People are lazy and stupid. We will follow anyone who seems legitimately in charge. And for the most part, we all do it. People will follow actors, radio personalities, fictional characters, writers, religious leaders, a political party, politicians, and more. The worst part, they don’t know why, or if they have a reason, it may not make any sense to anyone besides themselves. My mother once told me that she would not vote any woman into any political office because God mad men to be better at that. People grow up and vote Republican or Democrat because their parents did. Or they go to the same church/denomination/cult because the rest of their …

Some customers can be a real nightmare

Angry_Man

Most of the time, people are courteous and polite and I am happy to assist, help or even teach them various things about getting their site up and running. Seriously, there are so many times I just want to tell a customer, “If I could do that, do you think you would be talking to me?” or “If we are so bad, why don’t you leave?” Of course I don’t say that, customer service is very important to the company I work for and I take …

The question is, why would I want to move away from Tumblr and into a WordPress platform? The answer can vary, but there were a few things that pushed me away from the Tumblr platform. The following are a few points as to why I changed over. Search Engine Optimization I received no results in Search Engines in Tumblr. With WordPress, however, …

Living without a cell phone

300px-Nokia_6280_phone

I am not much of a talker, especially on the phone, which is weird as i work at a call center. In any case, I don’t really use my cell phone at all. It is more often dead or lost. Plus, the thing is that the only people I ever really call are my partner, family and work. And rarely am I in a place where I do not have wifi. So to say the least, I am getting rid of the cell phone. Now, don’t get me wrong, i still have a number, but it is a Google Voice number. So people can still call me, text me and …
